Ukraine Relief Aid is a UK charity(registered number 1056132)

As a result of Chernobyl there are many health problems in the area still today, children with cancer and also thyroid problems being common among those still surviving. Also, with the process of regeneration and rebuilding in the post-communist era, many of the poorest people in this area find their lives incredibly difficult.

We work in conjunction with a partner church in Vishgorod, Kiev, to improve the social and spiritual existence for some of the poorest people who live in this area of the Ukraine, which is in the first inhabitable region following the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.

We support a number of initiatives via our partner organisation, including supporting an orphanage, an old people's home, feeding the street children of Kiev, and providing humanitarian aid. With your support we hope to be able to increase both the amount of support on the ground, and also the number of projects, as the needs are always far greater than the resources. In addition, we are also supporting a sponsorship programme of individuals and families, by regular giving. If you would like to know more about this, please email us.

Our main fundraising activities in the UK are based around the sale of local hand produced Russian and Ukrainian crafts, principally Russian Dolls, for which the producers are paid fair rates, and then all the profits are ploughed back into the projects we are supporting in the Ukraine. Please visit our online 'Shop' to take a look at some of the items we sell and help support our work. Credit card payments can now be accepted via Paypal.
